I grew up knowing my late dad as a calm, peaceful, and down-to-earth person. I witnessed him facing challenges and achieving successes in his endeavors. He was a dedicated father who invested a lot to ensure his children succeeded despite various financial challenges.
He possessed a subtle and reserved character, never harboring ill intentions toward anyone in his community or those around him. Even amidst challenges, he remained steadfast to his ideals and principles, working hard to educate us, his children, from primary school through university.
Dad instilled in us the values of being good and obedient children, emphasizing that success hinged on these virtues. In matters of life and education, he made it clear that dedication and the ability to navigate through difficult moments were crucial elements for success.
Reflecting on the fond memories spent by the fireside, he would narrate the history of Baitei-Etwii and how families settled in that community. He shared moments of his colonial-era education, crediting the Basel Mission for helping him become a teacher.
One aspect that deserves a thumbs-up is his resilience in dealing with health issues. A critical patient for over fifty years, he survived through medications and frequent hospitalizations. His approach to health challenges was grounded in principles of optimism and resilience.
Dad will forever be remembered for his enduring strength, unwavering dedication to his family, and the positive values he instilled in us. As we bid him farewell, let us celebrate a life well-lived and honor the legacy he leaves behind.

Dear Family of Papa Victor. I only had the privilege of knowing Papa Victor through his loving son Augustine. Augustine and I met as college students in 1998. He became my big brother and taught me more about myself then any academic institution ever could. Papa Victor lives within Augustine and his beautiful children whom I have claimed also as my nephews. My heart goes out to the family. Augustine my brother, we will make that trip to Cameroon some day. Papa Victor will see us do it from above
We miss you Dad.
A heart of gold stopped beating / Working hands at rest / God broke our hearts to prove to us / He only takes the best / Leaves and flowers may wither / The golden sun may set / But the hearts that loved you dearly / Are the ones that wonโt forget.
